Tennis Falls at Tech in Non-Conference Match

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Mulan Kamoe improved to 3-1 at the No. 1 singles position while Henderson State fell to Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas, 6-1. The Reddies will face the Golden Suns again in what will be a conference match in the final home match of the season.

After HSU failed to pick up a doubles match, Kamoe responded with her third straight-set singles victory of the season, defeating Tech's Lea Grinberg, 6-2, 6-2, moving her singles record to 3-1. The victory comes six days after defeating the No. 31 ranked singles player in the nation.

The Reddies had two other matches go the distance, as both Tirzah Bailey and Danna Nunez won their respective first sets, 6-4 and 6-1, respectively, before eventually falling in three.

Henderson St. (1-3) will head to Clarksville, Arkansas, for its next match when it plays at the University of the Ozarks Thursday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
