DURANT, Oklahoma - Henderson State kept it close early on, but fell late to Southeastern Oklahoma State in game one of the weekend series, 9-4. In order to stay alive in the GAC race, the Reddies (12-37, 9-19)Â will look to split tomorrow's doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.Â
Madison Treutlein only helped her leading batting average with a perfect 3-for-3 showing at the plate and one RBI.
Abbie Moore went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as she is now eighth on the all-time RBIs list in HSU history with 85.
Play started out in favor of Henderson with

Brooke Johnson delivered a two-out, one-run double, scoring Moore for the 2-0 lead.
A solo home run from SOSU in the bottom half of the first cut the Reddie lead to one, 2-1, before HSU was held scoreless in the second, leaving the door open for the Savage Storm to tie things up and eventually take the lead in the second, 3-2.
A Treutlein double gave the game its third tie of the contest before Southeastern saw its second home run of the game put the hometown team up two runs in the third, 5-3. Henderson continued to answer SOSU's blows after Moore completed her two-RBI day with a single in the fourth to cut the score to one, but a brief stall in the scoring broke with a pair of runs for the Savage Storm in the fifth that erased any doubt.
Two finals runs in the sixth spelled the finish as HSU fell in game one, 9-4. After being plagued by five errors, HSU will look to change its tide in games two and three, which will take place tomorrow at 12 & 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Softball Field.Â
