SHAWNEE, Oklahoma - The GAC's best pitcher in Oklahoma Baptist's Kayleigh Jones pitched a no-hitter as Henderson State fell to the Bison Friday evening, 8-0.
Madison Treutlein and
Abbie Moore each worked walks while
Miyah Jackson and
Monica Monreal each got on base courtesy of getting hit by a pitch, but that was the only action HSU saw all day.
Both pitchers claimed a pair of strikeouts in their first times out to see a quick first inning before OKBUÂ opened things up in the bottom of the second. Two hits and two errors into the second at-bat for the home team saw the Bison seize a 3-0 lead.Â
The Reddies were unable to do much of anything else the rest of the way, with only one HSU batter getting on base over the remaining three innings. Oklahoma Baptist went on to add another five runs to finish play early, 8-0.
Henderson St. (12-40, 9-22) will return to Bison Softball Park for the season's final games. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. with game three to follow.
