RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – It was all Golden Suns in Game one of the weekend series between Henderson State and Arkansas Tech as ATU took the series-opener, 16-0, improving the conference's second-place team's winning streak to six games.
Â
The Reddies were held to one hit on the evening, coming from the bat of newcomer
Miyah Jackson, who now has four hits in her last five games. Her and fellow freshman
Madison Treutlein were the only two to reach base in the outing.
Â
Treutlein's reach came off a passed ball, but that was the only action HSU saw until the top of the fourth when Jackson singled through the right side to give Henderson its second base runner of the day. Tech, meanwhile, saw innings of four, five and six runs before adding one final run in the bottom of the fourth.
Â
Henderson St. (11-30, 8-14) will return to the Chartwells Women's Sport Complex for a doubleheader tomorrow, with the day's first contest beginning at 12 p.m.
