SEARCY, Ark.- Henderson State fall in conference opener to Harding, losing 3=0. The Reddies continue to struggle against the Lady Bison, losing their fifth match in a row.Â
Junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Sykes finished the match with four blocks, the most on the team, and two kills. The Reddies had ten players register a kill, including Christiane Uzoh and Aleah Stogner, who led the team with four kills apiece.Â
Henderson State(4-6, 0-1) stays on the road, facing Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, Thursday, Sept. 8. The match's first serve starts at 6 p.m.Â
SET ONE
After going down early to the Lady Bison 7-3, the Reddies fought back to tie the match at 11-11. Harding's 5-1 run gave them the advantage, forcing a timeout from Henderson. After the timeout, the Lady Bison put together a flurry of attacks to extend their lead to 20-14. Harding secured a 25-17 set victory after a pair of kills from the Lady Bison.Â
SET TWO
Harding shot out to a 12-4 lead and continued to score as they expanded their lead to 19-6. The Lady Bison cruised to a 25-7 set win, holding the Reddies to their fewest points in a set all season.Â
SET THREE
The Lady Bison opened set three with a flurry of attacks, scoring six unanswered points, forcing an early timeout from Henderson. Coming out of the timeout, Harding added to their lead, scoring seven more points making their lead 13-5. The Lady Bison claimed victory, winning set three 25-11.Â
