MEET RESULTS
CLEVELAND, Miss. - In the Henderson State Red Wave men's first action of 2023, they defeated No. 11 Delta State on the road, 153-146. The women matched the men by defeating No. 16 DSU in their second meet of the new year, 150.50-146.50.
The Red Wave got things rolling with the third and fourth events of the night as the women and men both took first in the 200 medley relay.

Jessica Bongfeldt,
Isabelle Andrews and
Mackenzie Kester touched the wall at 1:46.15 to beat out the Lady Statesmen by more than two seconds thanks to Kester's 24.34 leg on her 50 free - seventh tenths of a second faster than what she swam at Little Rock.

Patryk Dabrowski took first after finishing with a time of 1:32.00
Both Henderson St. teams won the only other relay event of the meet, taking top honors in the 200 free relay, which was the final event of the meet to help lock up the victory for both sides. Kester,

Emily Chen and Andrews finished 34 hundredths of a second ahead of Delta with a time of 1:39.55 while the men's quartet of
Jack Armstrong, Taylor, Pinckney and
Tim Holt finished nearly four seconds ahead of their competition, finishing at 1:21.93.
Individually, for the second time in as many days,
Emma Jorgensen won the 400 IM, pacing the other swimmers by two seconds, touching at 4:41.46, while getting third in the 200 free (2:00.24) and second in the 200 back (2:15.14).
Kiara Pozvai, after winning the 200 free in Little Rock yesterday, sat at the 2-free while winning the 100 backstroke by a whole three seconds at 56.16. The true sophomore also won the 50 free and 100 free in addition, posting a time of 23.93 and 52.03, respectively.
Bongfeldt and Andrews added individual victories to their day. Bongfeldt swept the breaststroke events after finishing with a time of 1:07.53 in the 100 and 2:28.33 in the 200 while Andrews topped the podium in the 200 butterfly (2:12.26).
On the men's side, freshman
Scott Doll finished within a second of the first-place swimmer in the 1000 yard free with a time of 9:55.33 while
Triston Little placed third with 10:13.37.
Tate Sloan delivered a two-win performance on the afternoon, taking first in the 200 free (1:40.77) and 500 free (4:46.08). Armstrong also claimed two wins in the 50 free (20.20) and 100 free (44.77) while also grabbing second in the 100 fly (49.94) behind Pinckney at 49.22.
Taylor earned himself a win in the 100 back after a time of 49.51 and second in the 200 back after touching the wall at 1:54.79. Tippett won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.51.
Henderson State will return to the Wells Natatorium Friday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. for Senior Night when the Red Wave take on the University of the Ozarks. The Red Wave will follow that with the season-finale at Ouachita Baptist Friday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m.
