MEET RESULTS
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Both Henderson State Red Wave programs defeated their Hendrix counterparts by at least 66 points as the women claimed their first win of the season at 130-64 while the men improve to 4-0 with a 167-35 victory.
The women started off the meet in a strong way as the 400 medley relay quartet of
Madalyn Hall,
Emma Jorgensen,
Bianca Santiago and
Mackenzie Kester posted a time of 4:07.78, defeating Hendrix's second-place team by 45 seconds after they touched at 4:52.51.
Both men's 'A' and 'B' relays downed the Warriors' quartet representatives in the same event as
Jack Armstrong,
Lamar Taylor,
Jaren Tippett and
Oskar Cebula took first with a 3:33.02 time. Armstrong, who swam the opening 50 backstroke leg for the first time this season, led off with a 25.12.
The men went on and won every single event of the night while the women took all but one event. Jorgensen and Kester picked up a pair of individual wins on the night for the women while
Jaren Tippett and
Patryk Dabrowski saw multi-wins for the men.
To close the night, the women's 200 free relay group of
Pearl Himelick,
Valerie Grigar, Hall and
Raven Roberts paced the rest of the groups with a time of 1:47.06 while the men's 'A' relay out-touched the HSU 'B' relay by just two tenths of a second.
Trailing by nearly six seconds heading into the third leg,
Jase Pinckney of the 'A' relay made up the margin with a 20.70 50-free to bring the teams within 27 hundredths of a second. With head coach Scotty Serio pinning Armstrong and Taylor as the final legs in the pair of relays, Armstrong edged out Taylor in the final 50, 19.46 to 19.93 to give the win to the 'A' relay.
Both Red Wave programs will head out to Arkansas-Little Rock tomorrow morning for a dual meet on the men's side against Division I Saint Louis while the women will compete against both UALR and St. Louis.
