Baseball Falls in Game One Against Bison, 14-4

SEMINOLE, Okla. - Henderson State baseball held Oklahoma Baptist scoreless in five of the seven innings the two team's played Friday evening, but all 14 of the Bison's runs came in just two innings as the Reddies fell in game one of the weekend series, 14-4.

Greyson Stevens and Kaden Argenrbight gave HSU their two extra-base hits of the contest to score a trio of runs. Jacob Carroll was responsible for the fourth run after delivering his fifth home run of the season.

Henderson St. (26-18, 17-11 GAC) will return to Seminole State College tomorrow for games two and three of the weekend series beginning at 1 p.m.

After a scoreless first inning from both sides, Argenbright led off the second with a double before Colton Patterson got the Reddies on the board first in the second two batters later with a groundout to score his teammate.

Oklahoma Baptist responded with that and more in the bottom of the second, putting up seven runs on five hits to open up the scoring. Two more innings came and went with the score remaining 7-1 before Henderson put up its first crooked number in the fifth.

It was Stevens' turn to register his double, scoring Charles Hoof, who led off the inning with a single, and Luke Farrar. Back-to-back fly outs put an end to the scoring temporarily. After another scoreless OKBU half-inning, Henderson added another run in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to three, 7-4.

Oklahoma Baptist came through with its second big inning of the game with seven more runs in the home-half of the sixth off just three hits thanks to four walks a pair of hit-by-pitches. With the Reddies unable to cut any more into the deficit, play was retired early with a 14-4 final score.
