Reddies Complete Three-Set Comeback in Battle of the Ravine Thriller

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  Henderson State picked up its first conference victory of the season in a 3-2 comeback win over Ouachita Baptist at the Duke Wells Center on Tuesday.

After taking the first set, the Tigers eked out a 26-24 victory in set two. From there, the Reddies claimed three straight sets to earn a come-from-behind win over their rival from across the street. This was HSU's third straight triumph over Ouachita, with all three successes being the result of a five-set match.

Katilyn Steffes led Henderson's offensive attack with 28 kills on a .354 hitting percentage. The junior from Rochester, Minnesota also contributed 12 digs, four blocks (one solo), and four service aces.

Christiane Uzoh supported the comeback with 14 kills and seven blocks of her own. Savannah Coats joined the double-digit kill club with 12.

Up front, Larkin Luke delivered seven blocks and three assists. Cassidi Campbell added six kills and three blocks.

Madison Hatt and Braxton Jones continued to deliver an effective one-two punch at setter. The senior Hatt ended the night with a team-high 31 assists, while the freshman Jones followed close behind with 27 assists, four kills, and 10 digs.

Kaylon Partain provided a strong 31-dig performance at defensive specialist.

Following Tuesday night's victory, the Reddies will hit the road once again to take on Arkansas-Monticello. HSU's showdown with the Blossoms is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3.
