ALVA, Okla. – The Reddies return to action versus Northwestern on the second day of a back-to-back and fall short after a hot start to the Rangers

After a strong start by the Reddies the Rangers spurred a comeback led by an efficient offense. The Reddies were led offensively by
Katilyn Steffes,
Christiane Uzoh, and
Savannah Coats, the trio combining for 39 kills. Defensively the Reddies found success at the net, Uzoh,
Larkin Luke, and
Cassidi Campbell combined for 16 blocks.

In one of their most complete sets of the year the Reddies dominated offensively and defensively. Led by a string of seven straight points late in the set the Reddies never looked back. In the first set the Reddies hit .417 including four players adding two or more kills in the set.
Kaylon Partain led all players with six digs and added two assists offensively. The Reddies held the Rangers to a -.067-hit percentage forcing eight attack errors.

Following a lobsided first set the Rangers battled back in the second set. With five blocks in the set, two more than they had in the first set, the Rangers responded with five blocks of their own. The Reddies continue to find production form setters
Madison Hatt and
Braxton Jones who combined for 18 assists through the first two sets. The Reddies fell in the second set 25-20 behind a balanced offensive attack from the Rangers.

The third set went back and forth with the Reddies and Rangers hitting nearly identical hitting percentages, .241 for the Reddies and .240 for the Rangers. The Reddies led for a majority of the set but fell to the Rangers 27-25.

In the fourth and final set the Reddies spurred as late comeback behind a kill by
Larkin Luke and a block by Campbell and Uzoh but fell short in the set 25-17.

The Reddies return to action on Wednesday versus Arkansas Tech at 6:30 p.m. for their second match up of the year, this time in the Duke Wells Center.
