ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State led from start to finish in a 95-70 victory over Hendrix at Duke Wells Center on Tuesday.
The Reddies began the game on a 20-0 run, which was led by steals from
Matthew Mayes,
Chase Farmer,
Rondae Hill,
Braydon Redd,
Rece Hipp, and
Jamarion Brown. HSU scored 28 points off 21 Warrior turnovers. After taking a 43-20 lead into the halftime break, Henderson State improved its field goal, three-point, and free-throw percentages in the second half to provide the final result.
Hill led the Reddies in scoring with 14 points and contributed six assists. Hill was a plus-27 in plus-minus rating, leading all players. Mayes led both teams with a career-high nine assists to go along with 13 points.
Nehikhare Igiehon continued his dominance inside with 13 points and six rebounds. He went four-for-five from the field and a perfect five-for-five from the free-throw line.
The bench scored 34 points, including nine points from Hipp in just under eight minutes. The Reddies are outscoring their opponents by 127 bench points this season, including a 119-point advantage during the team's current four-game winning streak.
The Reddies are currently fifth in the nation in field goal percentage (54.01 percent).
HSU improved to 4-1 with Tuesday's win versus the Warriors. This is the first time that the team has won four of its first five games since the 2019-20 season: a campaign that saw the Reddies win the GAC Tournament.

The Reddies will return to the Duke Wells Center on Saturday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m. for a non-conference matchup against Christian Brothers. This will be Henderson's final non-conference test before the start of Great American Conference play on Thursday, Decemeber 5.
