CLINTON, Miss. - Henderson State erased a double-digit deficit en route to a 53-50 comeback victory at Mississippi College on Tuesday.
After trailing by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, the Reddies cut the deficit to 10 heading into the halftime break. In the final 20 minutes, HSU outscored the Choctaws 36-23 to seal a hard-fought win on the road.
Jadah Pickens led the offensive charge with 20 points: her fifth consecutive double-digit game to open up the season. Brynlee Huggins followed close behind with 18 points of her own.
Klowie Pike provided a breakout performance on defense, recording seven steals in the victory. She is one of only two players in the GAC to record seven or more steals in a game this season, joining Southern Arkansas' Marlee Bright. Pike also led the team with three assists.
Bobbi Bazzle collected eight rebounds to match her season average.
Henderson will return to the Duke Wells Center on Saturday, November 30, to close out its non-conference slate against Rogers State. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
