GAME ONE: Henderson State 13, Southeastern Oklahoma State 5
Argenbright quickly opened things up with a three-RBI double to turn a one-run lead into a four-run advantage in the first inning. Southeastern fought back, however, scoring five unanswered to bring the tally to 5-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
Facing its first deficit of the game, HSU strung together three hits and a Savage Storm fielding error to plate four runs for an 8-5 lead. Gregg and Brumley combined to hold SE scoreless the final four innings as the Reddies added an additional five runs.
Single runs from Argenbright and
Logan Cowart in the sixth and the seventh before the final dagger came in the eighth with a five-spot as Henderson opened up play once again, 13-5. Brumley continued to hold Southeastern at bay to grant Henderson the series victory with still one game to play.
GAME TWO: Southeastern Oklahoma State 3, Henderson State 2
Similar to Henderson in the day's first game, Southeastern started things off fast with a triple to score the first two runs of the game. The high-octane Reddie offense in the first game managed just one hit through the first three innings.
Henderson's offense got a bit of a boost from SE's pitching staff as back-to-back hit batters with the bases loaded allowed HSU to tie things up in the fourth, 2-2. However, the Savage Storm re-took the lead in the fifth as neither team scored again, giving Southeastern the 3-2 game-three win.
