ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - For the second time this season, Henderson State defeated cross-street rival Ouachita Baptist, this time in a conference match at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center, 6-1.
Mulan Kamoe and
Kristina Kozlova extended their doubles winning streak to four matches, defeated OUA's top doubles tandem, 6-2. The remaining two HSU doubles team took wins to give the Reddies the first point of the night.
With Henderson three points away from clinching the match, the red-and-gray got that and then some in succession from Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 6. All four Reddies won their respective singles matches in straight sets to give HSU its second conference win of the season.
With the match already in hand,
Angela Georgieva at the No. 3 line took her opponent to three sets after dropping the opening frame before winning the head-to-head, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Henderson St. (11-8, 2-2 GAC) finished its home conference slate, with its final conference match of the season coming against Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Okla., Wednesday, Apr. 17 at 2 p.m.
