MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Henderson State volleyball fell in their second game of GAC play versus Southern Arkansas in three sets at the W.T. Watson Center.

The Reddies battled in the first set versus Southern Arkansas with 15 kills in the set, nine of those kills coming from the trio of
Christiane Uzoh,
Savannah Coats, and
Katilyn Steffes. After leading early and mounting a 6-3 run midway through the set the Reddies run fell short, losing 25-22.

Early in the second set the Reddies found themselves in a 6-12 hole. Led by a string of kills and Southern Arkansas errors the Reddies trailed by just one at a 17-16 score. Following a string of strong defensive plays from Southern Arkansas and multiple kills the Reddies lost 25-21.

The third set for the Reddies was back and forth early but the Reddies pulled away to a 13-10 score before a Southern Arkansas timeout. The Reddies were led by strong defensive plays at the net leading to three open kills for Steffes before the timeout. Following the timeout the Reddies went on a 5-2 run capped by an exhilarating rally before a Southern Arkansas attack error leading their coach to call a quick timeout. After the second timeout Southern Arkansas stormed back and the two teams battled to a 24-24 score where Southern Arkansas pulled away winning 26-24

The Reddies return to action Thursday September 26 at 6:30 p.m. versus Harding at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
