ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State Volleyball struggles in first conference match at home losing 3-0.
The Reddies struggled to find their footing both offensively and defensively in the first and second sets. Freshman
Braxton Jones showed her versatility in the two sets combining for seven of the teams 23 total points while coming off the bench.
The third set saw the Reddies field a comeback led by an updated lineup which included freshmen
Trystin Ross and
Rylee Smith who each contributed defensively in limited time. An early 7-2 run to start pushed the Reddies to the closest set of the match. The third set was led by senior
Christiane Uzoh who contributed seven points for the Reddies. The Reddies battled to an even 23-23 score before falling 25-23.
The Reddies return to action next Tuesday at home in a Battle of the Ravine matchup versus Ouachita at 6:30 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
