SHAWNEE, Okla. - Henderson State fell short in Shawnee after a third-quarter rally lifted Oklahoma Baptist to a 75-56 victory.
The Bison took a 13-point lead into the second quarter, but HSU managed to cut the deficit to four before the halftime break. In the third, OKBU outscored the Reddies 28-6. Henderson bested the hosts 18-11 in the final period to provide the final result.
Brynlee Huggins led the team with 15 points in the loss. Sam Basson recorded 12 points of her own while going four-for-five from three-point range.
Tristen Keller collected a game-best eight rebounds and season-high three assists.
On defense, Bobbi Bazzle and Michaela Mayfield stepped up with two blocks and two steals, respectively.
Next Thursday, Henderson State will take on Ouachita Baptist in a Battle of the Ravine showdown at the Duke Wells Center. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. on January 23.
