2024 DON HANSEN ALL-AMERICA TEAM SELECTIONS
BROOKFIELD, Ill. - Henderson State's Cayden Davis has been named an honorable mention selection for the 2024 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team. He is the first Reddie to earn such recognition from the Don Hansen Football Committee since Xavier Malone in 2022.
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on August 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Illinois, started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
In 2024, Davis topped the Great American Conference leaderboard with six receiving touchdowns. His average of 19.5 yards per reception was the highest among GAC players with at least 20 catches for the season.
This marks the 25th time that a Reddie has been selected as a Don Hansen All-American. Davis, originally from Caddo Mills, Texas, is the first tight end in HSU history to receive the honor.
With the Don Hansen announcement, Davis has now been selected as an All-American three times for the 2024 season. He also received D2CCA All-America Second Team honors as well as a spot on the D2Football Elite 100 Squad Team. The Texan's other honors include a D2CCA All-Region First Team selection and a second consecutive All-GAC First Team nod.
