2024 ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM SELECTED BY CSC

GREENWOOD, Ind.  -  Five Henderson State football athletes have been chosen for the 2024 Academic All-District Team selected by College Sports Communicators. The Reddies picked for this honor included quarterback Andrew Edwards, tight end Cameron Galliher, offensive lineman Gabe Hernandez, kicker Kolby King, and linebacker Eric Thibodeaux.

Edwards has also been named a finalist for CSC's Academic All-America Team, which will be announced on January 28.

The 2024 Academic All-District Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student- athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.

Edwards, a native of Bentonville, Arkansas, was selected as a 2024 Second Team All-GAC honoree after leading the conference with 207 completions, 2,539 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, and a 156.9 quarterback efficiency rating. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in management in December and is currently pursuing an MBA at HSU.

Galliher appeared in all 11 games for the Reddies in 2024. Originally from Dickinson, Texas, he is working on a master's degree in sport administration.

Hernandez started on the offensive line in each of Henderson's 11 contests. The former Lumberton Pirate is studying pre-occupational health and human performance.

King made six field goals during the season, including a long of 46 yards against Southern Arkansas on October 19. He went 35-for-38 on extra-point attempts. The native of Houston, Texas, is set to receive a degree in interdisciplinary studies in the spring.

Thibodeaux, who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, recorded a 23-yard sack in the Reddies' 27-12 victory over Arkansas Tech on September 21. He is graduating with a biology degree in May.
