ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  As snow began to fall in Arkadelphia on Thursday, Henderson State hosted Southwestern Oklahoma State in a rematch of the 2024 Great American Conference Tournament title game. After a tough battle, the Reddies fell short by a score of 89-83.

Four different HSU players reached double figures in the loss. Brynlee Huggins recorded a team-best 24 points in her third straight contest with 20 or more scored. The junior shot 50 percent from the floor.

Natalie Cardenas led the Reddies with three steals and posted 16 points.

Marlee Raby (14 points) and Sam Basson (10 points) also had double-digit scoring totals.

Makenna Winans paced the team with 11 rebounds in a performance that marked her third game with more than 10 boards this season.

Henderson will look to rebound against Northwestern Oklahoma State this Saturday, January 11, at the Duke Wells Center. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
