Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson faced off against the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State tonight, winning the match 3-0.

The Reddies had a balanced offensive attack tonight, with seniors
Savannah Coats and
Katilyn Steffes leading the team with 10 kills each, while
Kelis Battles followed right behind with nine.
Tyhia Mack and
Braxton Jones orchestrated the offense for the Reddies, with Mack recording 19 assists, and Jones with 16. Jones also secured three service aces on the night. On the defensive side, Steffes and
Kaylon Partain both collected 20 digs on the night to lead the team, while Battles collected 10. At the net, Steffes led the way with two blocks, while
Cassidi Campbell,
Rylee Smith and Battles all collected one.
Match Recap
The first set started off well for the Reddies, as they used a 5-0 run to take an early lead. Southeastern tried to come back, but Henderson continued to extend their lead, as two kills by Battles gave them a 10-4 lead. Another 3-0 run by the Reddies gave them a 17-8 lead, and the Savage Storm took a timeout. Two more kills by the Reddies extended the lead to 19-8 before Southeastern scored another point. While a 3-0 run brought the score to 19-11, the Reddies kept up the pressure, and used a 4-0 run to win the first set 25-12.
In the second set, a 3-0 run gave the Reddies an early 3-0 lead, before eventually Southeastern tied it 4-4. A 7-0 run, led by a service ace and kill by Jones gave the Reddies a 11-4 lead, and the Savage Storm took a timeout. Another 3-0 run extended the lead to 15-6. Both teams exchanged points, and a 4-0 run by Southeastern brought the score to 19-14 before the Reddies were able to push the score to 21-14. Another 3-0 run by the Storm brought the score to 21-17, but they were unable to score more than one more point, and the Reddies secured the second set 25-18.
In the final set, Henderson took a 3-1 lead and were able to hold it until 4-0 by the Storm gave Southeastern a 7-5 lead. Two kills by Steffes led a 5-0 run to recapture the lead, as the Reddies held a 10-7 lead. Both teams continued to trade points, with Henderson maintaining their lead. Battles scored two kills and Jones recorded two service aces during a 4-0 run to extend the lead to 18-13, and Southeastern took a timeout. Southeastern responded with a 3-0 run to pull the score to 19-16. The Reddies were able to push the score to 22-17 before another Savage Storm timeout was taken. Southeastern scored one more point, but a service ace by
Emma Parsons and a kill by
Meadow Jones secured the match and set for Henderson 25-18.
