This Week in Volleyball: Nov. 3 - Nov. 6

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State begins the week on the road at Southern Arkansas on November 4th at 6:00 PM in the WT Watson Athletic Center. The Reddies then return home to host Harding November 6th at 6:30 PM in the Duke Wells Center.

Henderson State are coming off a single road match against Arkansas Tech, where they defeated the Golden Suns 3-1.

On the offensive side, Katilyn Steffes continues to lead the Reddies, as she currently holds 416 kills on the season, ranking second in the nation, and leading the GAC. Kelis Battles ranks second on the team and in the GAC with 278 kills. At the line, Berkeley Berry leads the team with 37 service aces.

The Reddie offense is orchestrated by Tyhia Mack, who leads the team in assists (488), averaging 5.25 assists per set. Braxton Jones is currently getting significant time, as she's collected 144 assists averaging a team-leading 5.54 assists per set.

Kaylon Partain continues to lead the team defensively, as Partain ranks first in the nation and the GAC this season in total digs (575), while also leading the GAC in digs per set (5.87). Steffes and Berry rank behind Partain on the team, collecting 334 and 219 digs respectively.

The net is where the Reddies have significant strength, as they rank second in the GAC in total blocks (203.5), and third in blocks per set (2.24). Junior Cassidi Campbell is tied for second in the GAC and leads the team individually, with 99 total blocks and ranks third in the GAC in blocks per set (1.09), while Steffes ranks second on the team in blocks (49.0), and Rylee Smith third (47.0).

Scouting Southern Arkansas (10-16, 4-8)
The Muleriders are coming off a 3-1 loss to Ouachita Baptist last week.

The Muleriders have a balanced attack, with two players accounting for over 200 kills on the season each. Juniors Brinklee Dauenhauer and Allie Cooper lead the team with 263 and 205 kills respectively, while Dauenhauer also leads in kills per set (2.83). Hayden Pinard leads Southern Arkansas in assists with 537, good for fourth in the GAC.

Defensively, Sadie Kabisch ranks second in the nation and the GAC in assists (556) and digs per set (5.98). At the net, the Muleriders are much weaker, holding 141 total blocks and averaging 1.45 blocks per set on the season.

The Reddies defeated Southern Arkansas at home earlier this year 3-0. Henderson State is 11-11 when on the road against the Muleriders and have a 52-17 record all-time.

Scouting Harding (19-4, 10-2)
The Bison are coming off a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello this last week, and face Ouachita on Tuesday.

Ella Drake leads the offense for Harding, leading the team in kills (250) and second in kills per set (2.94). Jacey Lambert ranks second with 239 kills and leads the team in kills per set (2.99). Olivia Wiedower orchestrates the offense for the Bison, as she leads the team and the GAC with 821 assists, averaging 9.33 assists per set. Drake leads the team with 43 service aces.

Defensively, Harding is led by Maddie Burrough with 305 digs, while Wiedower ranks second with 219. At the net, Rauly Eason leads the team in blocks (72.0) and ranks second in blocks per set (0.86), while Philomina Klotz ranks second with 71.0 blocks and first with 0.87 blocks per set.

Henderson State lost earlier this season at Harding, dropping 3-1. The Reddies are 17-22 when hosting the Bison, while they hold a 18-46 record all-time.
