CLEVELAND, Miss. — The third day of the 2025 NSISC Championships saw Nojus Skirutis break a school record twice in one day as the Red Wave added three more medals to its count for the week.
Skirutis set a new Henderson State record in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 3:54.94 in prelims Thursday morning. That record would last mere hours. In the 400 Yard IM Final, Skirutis broke his own record in the event with a time of 3:50.99. With his performance, the Lithuanian put himself in a prime position to earn an invite to the NCAA Division II National Championships with a B-cut time that is currently ranked eighth in the country. He finished second in the final, trailing only a conference-record time from Ouachita Baptist's Zsombor Bujdoso by less than half of a second (3:50.53).
Kiara Pozvai took second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with an NCAA Division II B-cut time of 1:50.58.
Freshman Colin Candebat narrowly missed out on the podium in the 100 Yard Butterfly, but his time of 48.26 seconds did earn him a consideration cut for nationals.
Fellow freshman Zachary Ponder finished fourth in the 400 Yard IM at a B-cut time of 3:56.82.
Patryk Dabrowski (1:39.42) and Tate Sloan (1:39.91) both collected national consideration cuts for their performances in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
HSU's Jean Ducastel, Oskar Cebula, Candebat, and Dabrowski claimed first place in a neck-and-neck Men's 400 Yard Medley Relay that saw them best rival Ouachita Baptist by two hundredths of a second (3:13.16).
