ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — In a rare Sunday matinee, Henderson State's women's basketball team lost to first-place Southern Nazarene by a score of 76-65 at the Duke Wells Center.
The Crimson Storm jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and, despite a rally from the Reddies the second period, SNU held its advantage the rest of the way for a road win.
Brynlee Huggins posted 18 points in her best scoring outing since January 25 at Southern Arkansas. She made five of her 12 attempts from three-point range, giving her a GAC-leading 69 threes made during the 2024-25 campaign (14 more than any other player in the league).
Natalie Cardenas reached double figures for a ninth straight contest by scoring 12 points of her own.
Bobbi Bazzle collected eight rebounds - four on both offense and defense.
Sam Basson paced the team with four assists, bringing her multi-assist streak to three games.
Michaela Mayfield recorded two steals in the loss.
The Reddies will host their final home game of the season in a Senior Night matchup with Arkansas Tech on Thursday, February 27. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., with a ceremony celebrating the program's seniors scheduled to take place between the women's and men's games.
