MONTICELLO, Ark. – Henderson State hits two three-run home runs in game one to win 8-4.

Thanks to a three-run home run from
Jay Albiter in the first inning the Reddies took an early 4-0 lead on the Cotton Blossoms. The home run was the first for Albiter on the season.

The Cottom Blossoms tied the game at four with a home run in the third inning.

Akers added a home run in the sixth inning, extending the score to 8-4. Akers has hit two home runs this season and today was her first home run with runners on base.

Makenna Keeton (3-1) picked up the win for the Reddies, allowing just six hits and striking out three. Keeton went five innings for HSU, Applegate entered in relief for two innings, allowing three hits and zero runs.

In the second game the Reddies fell 5-3 on the road. The Cotton Blossoms struck first, scoring the first four runs of the game. The Reddies responded with a run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth on an Akers double that scored
Josie Golden and
Jordyn Holland.

Henderson State is set face Delta State in Cleveland Mississippi for a double-header beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
