Reddies Take Down No. 12 Bisons, Claim Series in Searcy

SEARCY, Ark.  —  Henderson State secured its second straight series victory over a nationally-ranked opponent by defeating No. 12 Harding 13-7 on Saturday.

A Luke Rice RBI double, a Jeremy Schork RBI single, and another RBI from Austin Scritchfield helped the Reddies jump out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. In the bottom half of the inning, the Bisons got on the board with a solo home run from Collin Helms.

Over the next seven innings, the Reddies plated 11 unanswered runs. In the fourth, HSU tallied three runs on a Luke Farrar RBI double and a two-run base knock from Rice. Henderson put up three more runs in the fifth via a two-run Nate Moore single and an RBI base hit from Farrar. In the top of the seventh, Cal Jones launched a towering solo homer to right field to extend the Reddies' lead to nine. HSU tacked on two more runs in the top of the eighth with a Jaxson Gregg RBI double and a Scritchfield RBI single.

Harding finally ended its offensive drought in the eighth inning with an RBI base bit from Harrison Griffith and a two-run base knock from Seth Johnson. The Reddies added one final run in the top of the ninth before the Bisons scored three in the bottom half to provide the final result.

Cole Rodriguez earned the win by allowing four earned runs in 7.2 innings of work: the senior's longest outing of the year thus far. The Tomball, Texas, native is now 3-0 in 2025.

Farrar and Rice finished the day with four hits apiece. Farrar had two doubles in the series finale, while Rice reached base safely on five different occasions.

Tripp Campbell had a three-hit performance and scored once.

Scritchfield, Jones, and Moore each ended the contest with two hits. One of Jones' hits was a triple - his second of the campaign.

Louis Holt scored twice in the victory.

With three conference series wins in four tries now under their belt, the Reddies prepare to host Mississippi College in a midweek matchup at Clyde Berry Field on Wednesday, Mar. 12. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
