With a series sweep on the line the Reddies struggled to find their groove. The Reddies were outscored 5-0 after
Brooke Johnson singled to left, scoring
Justine Burch in the first inning.

The Reddies would put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a
Brooke Johnson two-run home run, also scoring
Hilary Akers. Only three players recorded one or more hits for HSU. Burch went 3-3 and drew a walk, Akers went 1-3 with a run and Johnson went 2-3 with three RBIs.

In three innings of relief the Reddie pitching allowed just one run and five hits. Johnson struck out four in relief or HSU.

The Reddies will look to bounce back in the Battle of the Ravine series versus the Ouachita Baptist Tigers. The Battle of the Ravine series begins on Tuesday at 4 p.m. with the second game beginning at 6 p.m.
