NWOSU Takes Series Finale from Reddies on Senior Day

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – After securing the series win yesterday, Henderson State couldn't quite get the sweep, as they dropped the finale 9-4 Saturday on Senior Day at Dee White Field.

Senior Brooke Johnson got the start and went four and one third innings, allowing 8 hits and 5 earned runs. She was relieved by senior Makenna Keeton in the fifth, who threw an inning and two thirds, surrendering four hits and three earned runs. Seniors Meagan Allen and Erika Bittinger, would combine for the final inning of work on the day.

Seniors were certainly the theme of the day, as all 10 of the Reddie seniors made appearances. Justine Burch got her usual start in centerfield and scored one of Henderson's four runs. Seniors Raylee Carey, Janasia Jones, Erika Bittinger, and Jordyn Holland all started as well. Carey and Jones both went two for four, while senior Makenna Denofrio and Erika Bittinger went one for two. Addison Tidwell and Jordyn Holland both made appearances as well, but did not record a hit.

This was the last home series of the year for Reddies softball, but they will be back in action at Dee White Field this Tuesday, April 15. Henderson will take on Division I Grambling State in a doubleheader, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
