MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. — Henderson State's women's golf team stood out on Monday in a loaded field at the Central Region Spring Preview as the Reddies shot 1-over 289 as a team and are in second place overall.
HSU is three shots back of the hosts Central Missouri, who lead the field after shooting 2-under 286 for their first 18 holes.
Felisa Sajulga and Cloe Poizac turned in the top scores for Henderson on Monday. Both carded rounds of 2-under 70 and are tied for third place individually. Sajulga made six birdies and Poizac had four on the day.
Madolyn Kost is in 18th place overall with a score of 2-over 74. Lily Nelson was the final counting golfer for the Reddies in the first round and shot 3-over 75 to settle into 25th. Paulina Narvaez is in 43rd at 6-over 78.
Henderson led the tournament, which previews the site of the 2025 NCAA Central Regional in four weeks, with 14 birdies and 58 pars in round one.
The Reddies return to action tomorrow when they tee off the second round at Shangri-La Golf Club.
