Women's Golf Twelfth After One Round at National Championship

DAY ONE TEAM LEADERBOARD | DAY ONE PLAYER LEADERBOARD

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — The Reddie women took to the Boulder Creek Golf Club Tuesday as one of 18 teams seeking a Division 2 women's golf national championship. Henderson State shot a 6-over par 294 on day one of competition, and they sit alone in 12th place after one round of play, fourteen shots shy of first place Anderson (SC) and Cal State San Marcos. The top eight teams after three days of play will advance to the match play portion of the championship this weekend.

Felisa Sajulga was the low score on the day for HSU, shooting a 1-under par 71. The College Station, Texas native sits alone in 21st place individually and recorded three birdies on the day.

Paulina Narvaez and Cloe Poizac each carded a 2-over par 74. Narvaez played a steady round, shooting a 37 on both the front and back nines, while Poizac used a low back nine to balance out the day.

Lily Nelson turned in a 3-over 75 on Tuesday. The junior used three birdies to overcome two double bogeys to help keep the team in contention. Madolyn Kost was just a stroke behind Nelson, firing a 4-over 76 which included shooting even par on the front nine.

After drawing early tee times today, the Reddies have a longer rest period; the first tee time for HSU is scheduled for 1:40 p.m Central time on Wednesday.
