A back-and-forth affair followed, with the lead exchanging hands twice before two three-pointers by Lewis pushed Reddies ahead. Henderson State held onto the lead and went into the half up 36-32.

The second half began with Oklahoma Baptist retaking the lead, but the Reddies fought back, taking the lead with 5:42 left in the quarter off a layup by Fairless.
