WEATHERFORD, Okla. (AP) — Henderson State struggled to find consistency from the perimeter and couldn't overcome a strong second half by Southwestern Oklahoma, falling 76-63 on Thursday night at the Pioneer Event Center.

The Reddies were limited to just three made 3-point field goals on 13 attempts, allowing the Bulldogs to establish a lead that they held for 35 of the game's 40 minutes. Despite the cold night from long range, Henderson State found success inside, outscoring SWOSU 40-16 in the paint.

Zaveion Okoh led the Reddies with 23 points on 9-of-20 shooting, adding four rebounds, while Jabari West finished with nine points. Jameel Wesley II chipped in 10 points off the bench as Henderson State shot 43.5 percent from the field overall.

The Reddies stayed within striking distance early, trailing 39-32 at halftime, but Southwestern Oklahoma opened the second half with a run fueled by perimeter shooting to push the margin into double digits. The Bulldogs finished the game with 13 made 3-pointers.

Henderson State dropped to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in Great American Conference play, while Southwestern Oklahoma improved to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in the GAC.

HSU continues their two-game road swing on Saturday with a matchup against Northwestern Oklahoma State. Tip-off from Alva, Oklahoma is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
