ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies (7-6, 1-3) opened their first home series of GAC play against Arkansas-Monticello, falling 2-1 in game one.
Henderson State took the lead in the third inning after
Penelope Foote singled to advance
Hilary Akers to third.
Josie Copeland then hit a bunt to score Akers, and the Reddies led 1-0.
The Reddies held UAM scoreless until the sixth inning, when they scored two runs off a double by Zoe Bridges. Henderson couldn't get any offense going the rest of the game and lost 2-1.
The Reddies scored one run off six hits, with Akers going 2-3, and Copeland going 1-3 with an RBI.
Presley Applegate (4-2) allowed two runs on seven hits, striking out six while walking one. Makenzie Martin (3-3) secured the win for the Blossoms, pitching a complete game.
