The Reddies trailed 37-33 early in the second half before responding with a 12-6 stretch. Okoh hit a 3-pointer at the 13:04 mark to give Henderson State a 48-43 lead, and Sykes followed with two free throws that pushed the margin to three.

After Northwestern Oklahoma State (9-11, 6-8) cut the deficit to 50-48, Henderson State built its cushion inside. Jabari West converted a putback, Whybrew scored on a fast-break dunk off a steal, and Sykes added a pull-up jumper to extend the lead to 56-48 with 9:35 remaining.
