Krznarich's Walk-off Wins Sunday Game, GAC Series for Reddies

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State scored four runs over the final two innings and used a walk-off home run from Mason Krznarich to defeat Harding 4–2 on Sunday at Clyde Berry Field; today's win clinched the series against the defending GAC champions.

Trailing 2–0 entering the eighth, Henderson State (11-8, 4-8 GAC) began its rally when Grant Fitch doubled down the right-field line. Cole McClendon followed with a pinch-hit single to center that brought Fitch home after a throwing error in the outfield. McClendon moved to third on a balk before Tanner Ross drove him in with a fielder's choice to tie the game at 2–2.

The Reddies ended the game in the ninth. Cooper McClure was hit by a pitch to open the inning, and Krznarich sent the next pitch over the right-field wall for a two-run homer to secure the win. Krznarich finished with two RBIs, while McClure and Fitch each collected two hits. Henderson totaled eight hits in the game, three of which came in the final two innings.

Harding (11-8, 8-4 GAC) scored its first run in the third inning after a Henderson State error allowed Nathan Bowie to reach. Bowie moved around the bases and scored on Collin Helms' sacrifice fly. The Bisons added another run in the seventh when Johnathan Jackson scored on Logan Lacey's sacrifice fly.

Henderson State starter Dawson Goines allowed one earned run on four hits across six innings while striking out five. Tyler Bates worked the seventh inning, and Rhett Richardson (1-0) pitched the final two innings to earn the win.

Harding starter Merritt Jay held the Reddies scoreless for seven innings before the Henderson State rally in the eighth. Austin Kelley (1-1) was given the loss after hitting McClure before being removed; Ricky Howell came into the game, and it took Krznarich just one pitch to end the game.
