Nelson Earns Second GAC Golfer of the Week Award of Season

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Henderson State senior Lily Nelson was named GAC Women's Golfer of the Week as announced on Thursday.

Nelson, a senior from New Castle, Colorado, took home an individual first-place finish at the WT Desert Classic in Tucson, Arizona. She shot a 4-under 68 in Tuesday's second round to overcome a five-shot deficit after a round of 73 on Monday. Nelson's second round was highlighted by two birdies and an eagle in the first five holes on Tuesday, which helped her overcome a deficit and finish two strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.

The award marks Nelson's second individual honor by the Great American Conference this season, after an individual championship at the Central Region Fall Preview earned her the award on September 4, 2025. This honor marks her fourth career GAC Golfer of the Week award.
