BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Reddie Tennis (11-8, 4-1) went into the semifinals of the GAC Championships as the No. 2 seed, where they faced No. 3 Harding. The Reddies took an early lead, before holding off the Bisons comeback and clinching a place in the Championship match 4-3.
Doubles
The Reddies opened the day with a 2-0 win in the doubles matches.
Adiya Abdugappar and
Jenna Kate Bohnert took the first win in the No. 2 position 6-2.
Kristina Kozlova and
Angela Dorado Marin clinched the point for the Reddies, defeating the No.3 pairing of Harding 6-3.
Singles
In the singles matches,
Jordan Parker took the first singles win, defeating Mia Hosking in the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-1. GAC Newcomer of the Year
Emilia Nowak took the next point, defeating No. 2 Brooke Coffman 6-3, 6-1 to give the Reddies a 3-0 lead. Harding would march back, tying the match 3-3, before Abdugappar rallied from behind 5-2 to win her third set 7-6, and give the Reddies the 4-3 win, advancing Henderson State to the championship.
