ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State Athletics has announced the hiring of Savannah Pierce as Assistant Athletic Director for Academics, as announced on Monday.

Pierce joins the Athletics Staff after spending the last five months as the Campus Visit Coordinator at Henderson State. In the prior two years before that, Pierce served as an Admissions Counselor, where she developed an in-depth understanding of the interworking of college academics, and the processes of ensuring students succeed in higher education.

"We're excited to have Savannah join us in Reddie Athletics," Director of Athletics Seth Dutton said. "Her background at Henderson State adds credence to her alignment with our department's goals and motivations. Her desire to see student success beyond the field in the classroom set her apart from the other candidates."

Prior to her time at Henderson State, Pierce served as an Inspector and Compliance Investigator in the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.

"Since the moment I stepped on Henderson State's campus, it has felt like home."  said Pierce, "I am honored and excited to continue that journey by supporting our student athletes throughout their academic careers. A Bismarck, Arkansas native, Pierce completed her education at Southern Arkansas, where she earned her degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology.
