Chris Bryant

Chris Bryant is beginning his third season as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Henderson State in 2023.

In 2022, Bryant coached Henderson's first 1000 yard rusher since 2015 with Korien Burrell's 1064 yards to go with 14 touchdowns. Both marks were ninth and tied for fourth, respectively, for a single season in program history. As an entire group, HSU was fifth in the GAC with 208.5 rushing yards per game while having just the seventh most carries in the conference (440). Bryant coached Burrell to a Second Team All-GAC selection and an All-Super Region Three Second Team selection.

Bryant comes to HSU from Prestonwood Christian Academy where he acted as the Assistant Coach and the wide receivers coach from 2020-21. Prior to that, Bryant served as the Special Teams Analyst at Division I North Texas from 2019-20.

In 2019, the Special Teams unit at UNT ranked No. 17 in FBS and No. 1 in Conference USA. In addition to that, there were eight categories in which UNT ranked in the Top-5 in FBS.

Bryant earned his BA in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas in 2017 and then his Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2018.

Chris and his wife, Elaina, have been married since 2014.Â
