Cole Schumacher

Cole Schumacher joins Henderson State as the Reddies' new inside wide receivers and tight ends coach in 2024.

A native of Rossville, Kansas, Schumacher played three seasons of Division II football as a wide receiver for Emporia State of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). Across his time with the Hornets, he hauled in 94 catches for 962 yards and eight touchdowns. In his senior season, Schumacher was an All-MIAA selection and helped lead his team to a postseason victory in the Live United Bowl.

Last season, Schumacher was a graduate assistant coach for wide receivers and special teams at Emporia State. He mentored a wide receiver unit that finished second in the MIAA in receiving yards (4,389) and receiving touchdowns (50). The Hornets also had two receivers (Tyler Kahmann and Jaylen Varner) with 1,000 yards apiece for the first time in school history.

Schumacher holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance and a Master of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
