Darrick Rose Jr. is set to start his second season as the Reddies' graduate assistant secondary coach in 2025.
In his first year as GA in 2024, the Reddies' secondary tied for third in the conference with 13 interceptions and finished ninth in the country in passing defense at 139.6Â yards allowed per game. Defensive back Cameron Thomas earned a Second Team All-GACÂ selection after tying for second in the conference with five picks.
A native of Bryant, Arkansas, Rose Jr. played football for HSU and appeared in 21 games for the team. He had five career interceptions, including a 36-yard pick six against Southwestern Oklahoma State in 2023. He had a career-high four total tackles, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry in the Reddies' first Battle of the Ravine victory over Ouachita Baptist since 2015. That win also earned Henderson its first NCAA Division II playoff bid in nearly a decade.
Rose Jr. holds a Bachelor of Science from Henderson State.
