Peyton Usher-Pearson begins his second year as the Graduate Assistant Defensive Line Coach at Henderson State in 2024.
In his first season as a grad assistant, the Reddies' defensive front finished the regular season with the most sacks of any GAC program (40). The defensive line, which featured Second Team AFCA All-American Gary Lewis, also helped HSUÂ finish the year with 11 forced fumbles - a total tied for the most in the conference.
Prior to making the jump to the coaching ranks, Usher-Pearson, a native of Wichita, Kansas, played on the defensive line for the Reddies from 2019-22.
In his three seasons of action, Usher-Pearson recorded 62 total tackles and five tackles for loss. In HSU's upset victory on the road at then-No. 12 Harding in 2022, the former defensive lineman logged nine tackles and half a sack.
Usher-Pearson graduated from Henderson State in May of 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, followed by a Master's degree in Sports Administration in May of 2023.
