Quinn Brown begins his fifth year as offensive line coach and his second year as assistant coach at Henderson State in 2023.
In 2022, Brown's offensive line allowed Henderson to operate as one of the most balanced offenses in the country. At the close of the regular season, the Reddies were one of four teams in all of NCAA Division II to average over 235 passing yards and 200 rushing yards per game. As entire unit, HSU finished third in the GAC 443.9 total yards per game. Brown also produced two All-GAC Second Team honorees of his offensive line in center Conner Justus and guard Blaise Smith.
In his first season in charge of the offensive front, the Reddies' line gave up just 12 sacks all year despite throwing nearly 400 drop-back passes — the third-most in the conference. The offensive line blocked and led a unit that finished third in the GAC in scoring offense and averaged 31.7 points per game.
Brown came to Henderson in 2019 after spending one season as the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. During his stint with the Cardinals, Brown oversaw all aspects of the offensive front, assisted in developing run and pass protection plans for the offense as a whole, helped reconstruct WJC’s offensive playbook in relation to offensive assignments, broke down opponent blitz and stunt tendencies to coordinate scouting reports and weekly game plans, and was in charge of communicating protection adjustments to the offensive coordinator. Brown also served as the Cardinals' recruiting coordinator and organized WJC’s recruiting plan and campus visits.
Prior to his stop at William Jewell, Brown coached for two seasons at Division I Northern Colorado, where he was an offensive graduate assistant working specifically with the offensive line. In two years with the Bears, Brown worked directly with both the offensive line coach and tight ends coach, assisted in developing game plans, and also provided support in UNC’s recruiting efforts.
Before going to Northern Colorado, Brown’s first Division I opportunity came at the University of Wyoming, where he worked as a graduate assistant with the Cowboy’s offensive line. During his time in Laramie, Wyoming, Brown aided the offensive line coach with opponent breakdown, coordinated the special teams unit and scout teams, and assisted in recruiting efforts for the Cowboys in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Texas.
Brown’s first coaching opportunity came at William Jewell during the 2012 season, when he served as the Cardinal’s tight ends coach. Prior to entering the coaching world, Brown played for four seasons at Missouri, where started as a quarterback before transitioning to the offensive line for the final three years of his career. During his playing career with the Tigers, Mizzou won the Big 12 North Division title in both 2008 and 2010.
