CAREER: Named GAC Male Athlete of the Year for 2012-13 and 2013-14 . . . Also was the 2013-14 GAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year . . . Named to numerous All-America Teams including Associated Press, D2Football.com, Daktronics, Don Hansen’s, Beyond College Sports, and Lindy’s . . . Unanimous choice for GAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013 . . . Chosen to the AllState/AFCA Good Works Team voted as the team captain . . . Named GAC Offensive Player of the Week honors 12 times during his career and National Player of the Week seven times . . . Has a 25-3 record as HSU’s starting quarterback . . . Holds the HSU and GAC career records for passing yards (10,076), touchdowns (91), completions (727), completion percentage (.667), and total offense (10,078) . . . Has thrown for 300 yards or more in 19 of 30 games, 400 or more yards nine times, and 500 or more yards three times . . . Was also a member of the GAC All-Academic Team three times . . . Graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance December 13, 2013 and gave the student response at commencement . . . Currently enrolled in graduate school.


2013:  Named GAC Offensive Player of the Week five times, Beyond College Sports National Player of the Week four times, and D2Football.com National Player of the Week twice . . . Set a single-game HSU and GAC record throwing for 595 yards, completing 42-of-50 passes against East Central . . . Opened the season throwing for six touchdowns, completing 17 of 25 passes for 468 yards against Southern Nazarene . . . Completed 27-of-39 passes for 474 yard and threw three touchdowns against Southern Arkansas . . . Also rushed for a pair of touchdowns against the Muleriders . . . Led the nation in passing yards per game (400.6), total offense (399.3), second in passing yards (4,807), third in touchdowns (40) while completing 322-of-467 passes.      

      

2012: Earned GAC Player of the Week honors a record six times . . . Led the nation in yards per completion (14.77) and yards per pass (9.78) . . . Finished second in the nation in passing efficiency  (175.66) and touchdown passes (41) . . . Ranked fourth in the NCAA in passing yards per game (363.8) and total offense (366.3) . . . Was named NCAA.com and D2 Football National Player of the Week for his performance against McKendree where he set a school and GAC record with seven touchdown passes while completing 28-of-36 passes for 442 yards . . . Threw for 518 yards, completing 32-of-46 passes against Southern Arkansas . . . Totaled 466 yards passing, going 30-for-44 with 5 touchdowns against Harding.

2011: Played in seven games making six starts for the Reddies . . . Named GAC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 12 when he led HSU to a 41-36 win over OBU . . . Against the Tigers, he completed 26-of-41 passes for 332 yards, and had scoring strikes of 67, 48, and 36 yards.    

2010: Redshirted.   

PREP: Attended Rockwall-Heath High School where he lettered two years in football . . . A second-team all-district selection and Academic All-State pick his senior year after throwing for 2600 yards and 20 touchdowns.

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 26, 1991 . . . Son of Ted and Linda Rodgers . . . Has two brothers, Kyle and Rick . . . Active member in HSU’ Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) . . . Enjoys golfing, hunting and playing video games . . . Favorite professional team is the Dallas Cowboys.
