Biography

2021: Played in eight games at tight end . . . Was sixth on the team with 136 receiving yards . . . Had a career-high 66 receiving yards on four catches against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Oct. 2) . . . Caught his only touchdown of the season in the home-opener against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Sept. 11).

2019: Started six games and played in eight for the Reddies at tight end after missing the first five weeks of the season due to injury … Caught 11 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns … Scored first career touchdown against East Central (Oct. 19) and second on a one-handed catch versus Southern Arkansas (Nov. 9) … Had a season-high three receptions for 25 yards in the Battle of the Ravine against Ouachita Baptist (Nov. 16).

2018: Redshirted.

PREP: Lettered three years at Cabot high School where he was an all-conference and all-state selection his senior year . . . Also lettered three years in basketball and was part of the 2016 state championship team . . . Earned Academic All-Conference three times.

PERSONAL: Born March 9, 2000 . . . The son of James and Aleisha Shurley . . . Has two brothers, Ashton and Archer . . . Hobbies including hunting and fishing . . . Majoring in biology.
