Henderson State clubbed a season-best 18 hits to beat East Central Oklahoma 10-5, Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Five Reddies had multiple hits including
Dustin Hudson and
Adam Ussery having four hits each.
Henderson State, 19-14 overall and 8-8 in the Great American Conference trailed 5-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth-inning. However the Reddies scored runs in the next four innings for the come-from-behind win.
The Reddies cut into the Tiger lead scoring two runs in the fifth-inning as Ussery blasted a two-run double to left-center field to score Hudson who doubled and
Josh Salmon who reached on a walk.
Conner Brackhahn tied the score in the sixth-inning with a double to left field to plate
Michael Schell who reached on an error. Salmon and Hudson then had back-to-back singles to score two more runs to give Henderson a 7-5 lead.
Zac Zdanowicz provided Henderson with a two-run single in the seventh-inning, while Ussery picked up his fourth hit of the game in the eighth-inning to score
Jordan Trosclair who pinch-ran for Salmon after he was hit by a pitch.
Nathan Eller pitched 8 innings while striking out six batters to pick up the win for the Reddies and improve to 4-2 on the season.
Aside from his four hits in the game, Ussery had three RBI and a double, while Hudson had two doubles and a RBI.
Mitch Frey went 3-for-5 in the game, while Salmon was 2-for-3 and Zdanowicz went 2-for-4.
