JORDAN, STIGGER NAMED GAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Robert Jordan
Box Score Henderson State's Robert Jordan and Keaton Stigger were named Great American Conference Special Team's and Defensive Players of the Week announced by the conference office on Monday.

The honor marks the fourth consecutive week in 2012, and fifth straight week dating back to 2011, that a Reddie has earned league honors.

Jordan, who ranks fifth nationally in average punt return yardage (22.64), became the first player in Henderson State history to return two punts for touchdowns in the same game. The junior from Miami, Fla. spun out of a pair of tackles, keeping his knee inches from the turf, and broke loose for an 85-yard punt return for his first score of the game.

Jordan later returned a kick 69 yards for his second touchdown and finished the game with 201 all-purpose yards while also having four receptions for 47 yards.

Stigger also set a school record to earn defensive honors as the linebacker compiled 21 total tackles surpassing Jon Jett who had 20 tackles against Southern Arkansas in 2004.

The native of Collierville, Tenn. had 10 solo stops, 2.5 tackles for lost yardage, and recorded a pair of pass breakups.

Stigger leads the GAC in tackles per game and ranks eighth nationally averaging 11.5 tackles per game.

Henderson State will put its 4-0 record on the line this Saturday when the Reddies travel to Weatherford, Okla. to face Southwestern Oklahoma with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
