Arkansas-Monticello scored eight unanswered runs to rally for an 8-5 win over Henderson State, Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the Great American Conference, built a 5-0 lead through five innings.
Henderson State took a 4-0 lead in the fourth-inning as the Reddies put together four hits.
Carlos Rodriguez drove in the first runs of the game with a two-run double, followed by a two-run single by

UAM, 10-6 and 5-2 in the GAC, cut the Reddie deficit to 5-3 in the sixth-inning getting a three-run home run from Ray Johnson to chase Reddie starting pitcher

The Boll Weevils then scored five runs in the top of the seventh benefitting from a huge error that would have ended the inning.
With one-out, and a runner on first, Hunter Allday hit a routine ground ball to second base which would have resulted in a double-play. However the ball was misplayed which prolonged the inning.
After Reddie pitcher
Ethan Jones walked Bronson Gillam to load the bases, Ben Agredano doubled to score a pair of runs, then Ray Johnson blasted a two-run single. Chad Miller drove in the final run two batters later with an RBI groundout.
Eddie Smith earned the win in relief to improve to 3-1 on the year. Smith held the Reddies scoreless and allowed just one hit with four strikeouts in the final four innings.
Jones took the loss after allowing three runs in the seventh.
Schell, Rodriguez, Wainwright and Corso had two hits each for the Reddies with Schell and Rodriguez having two runs batted in each.
The two teams will conclude the three-game series on Saturday with a double-header starting at Noon at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia.
