Nathan Eller allowed just four hits and struck out six batters to guide Henderson State to a 2-1 win over Southern Nazarene, Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
After giving up a leadoff single to Jacob Inbody, Eller retired the next 18 batters before SNU struck for a pair of singles in the seventh to score its lone run of the game.
Henderson State, 18-12 overall and 12-7 in the Great American Conference, took a 1-0 lead in the fourth-inning.
Carlos Rodriguez, who singled with two-outs, scored on a base hit by
Matt Evans.
After SNU tied the game in the seventh, the Reddies got a leadoff single by
Michael Corso in the eighth-inning.
Jordan Trosclair entered the game to run for Corso and quickly stole second.
Austin Coble laid down a textbook bunt and advanced Trosclair to third while beating the play at first to put runners on the corners.
Rodriguez plated Trosclair with a sacrifice fly to right field for the game winner.
Jordan Wright entered the game in the ninth-inning replacing Eller and retired the side in order. It was Wright's ninth save of the season with the junior recording saves in Henderson's last four wins. Eller improved to 4-1 on the season.
The Reddies collected 10 hits with Evans going 3-for-4, while Corso was 2-for-4.
The Reddies and the Crimson Storm will play a double-header on Saturday at Clyde Berry Field with the first pitch set for 11 a.m.
