Henderson State straight lost is fourth straight game as Harding shutout the Reddies 11-0, Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Henderson State managed just three hits in the game and struck out 11 times, while the Bisons banged out 11 hits.
Harding jumped on the Reddies early as the Bisons took a 4-0 lead in the first-inning.
With two-outs, the Bisons loaded the bases as Trent Wooldridge walked and advanced to second on a Jeremy Bohnett single. Matt Calhoun then reached when he was hit by a
Nathan Eller pitch to set the table for Erin McCarver.
McCarver, who had yet to hit a home run all season, took Eller's offering over the leftfield fence to clear the bases.
Eller ran into trouble again in the fourth as he hit two batters to put runners on the corners with two-outs. Wooldridge then laced a single to left field to extend the Bison lead to 5-0.
Harding, 22-15 overall and 12-10 in the Great American Conference, added a run in the seventh and put the game away in the eighth with five additional runs.
Cameron Walker picked up the complete-game win improving to 3-2 on the season, while Eller fell to 4-2.
Tadarius Hawkins,
Michael Corso and
Carlos Rodriguez accounted for the three Reddie hits.
With the loss, the Reddies fall to 20-16 overall and 14-8 in league play.
The two teams will conclude the series on Saturday with a double-header at Clyde Berry Field. First pitch for the twin bill is scheduled for 1 p.m.
